Getinge’s iCast Covered Stent System Launched in United States

Getinge has officially launched the iCast covered stent system in the United States for the treatment of iliac arterial occlusive disease. The company had previously obtained premarket approval from the FDA for the use of the iCast device in this particular medical indication.
It's worth noting that the iCast balloon-expandable polytetrafluoroethylene-covered stent, known as Advanta V12 outside the United States, is now available in the U.S., according to Getinge.
As previously disclosed by the company, the iCARUS investigational device exemption trial demonstrated the safety and efficacy of the iCast stent for treating iliac artery lesions. The 9-month primary patency rate stood at 96.4%, with long-term benefits evident in a 3-year freedom from target lesion revascularization rate of 86.6%.

The statement added that receiving the FDA 510(k) clearance for Vasoview Hemopro 3 marks a significant milestone for Getinge and underscores the effort to comply with the highest safety and effectiveness standards, emphasizing the medtech company’s commitment to advancing medtech.
