Since stepping into her leadership role in May 2021, Wilson has directed the development and oversight of the POCT program across Children’s Health. She leads comprehensive strategies for training, certification, and performance monitoring, ensuring that non-laboratory staff, including nurses and respiratory therapists, consistently meet CAP and CLIA standards.

Her leadership underpins some of the hospital’s most advanced and time-sensitive specialties, such as pediatric surgery, oncology, and intensive care. In these critical settings, every blood gas reading, glucose result, or respiratory panel must be fast and impeccably accurate. Wilson ensures that decentralized testing is held to the same rigorous standards as the core laboratory.

Engineering Systems for Safety, Speed, and Innovation Wilson’s career is rooted in deep technical expertise. She joined Children’s Health in 2010 as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, and advanced through roles including Senior Medical Technologist and Sendouts Coordinator before being appointed to her current leadership position. This hands-on experience allows her to approach diagnostic quality from a systems-level perspective, while understanding the granular workflows of a busy hospital lab.

An experienced healthcare manager, Wilson brings a broad skill set spanning regulatory compliance, laboratory operations, and health administration. Her background includes hands-on expertise in Hematology, Chemistry, and Send-out Testing, as well as process oversight in medical billing and invoice processing—a rare blend of clinical and administrative acumen. She holds a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, a degree that complements her scientific training with strategic leadership capabilities. This combination empowers her to lead complex lab systems with both technical fluency and operational foresight.

She leads cross-functional projects that evaluate and implement diagnostic tools, integrates new POCT devices with hospital EMRs, and ensures traceability, audit readiness, and clinical usability. Her involvement in internal audits, survey readiness, and compliance initiatives is marked by both precision and collaboration. Whether preparing for an accreditation inspection or resolving a corrective action, Wilson partners closely with clinical, IT, and vendor teams to maintain excellence across the entire diagnostic chain. Her peers across the organization routinely look to her as a trusted expert in laboratory operations and regulatory strategy.
