The “Top Medical Device” and related recognitions by MedTech Outlook aim to identify Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) across the medical technology ecosystem that demonstrate leadership in clinical enablement and healthcare innovation. The program covers device manufacturers delivering mission-critical equipment across diverse specialties, including surgical instruments, cardiovascular devices, medical imaging systems, and patient monitoring technologies. It also recognizes organizations advancing solutions in areas such as neurology, orthopedics, diagnostics, and drug delivery. By highlighting OEMs addressing complex clinical workflows and improving care outcomes, we showcase the manufacturers essential to advancing the global standard of modern healthcare delivery.
Our research team, in collaboration with the MedTech Outlook Editorial Board, an external panel of industry peers, analysts and subscriber-driven nominations, employs a Medical Technology Value Assessment Model to identify and recognize companies delivering exceptional value to the medical technology industry. Subscriber input plays an important role in the process, highlighting companies that professionals across the industry would recommend to their peers, choose for their own organizations or regard as best-in-class within their domain.
Nominees are scored on a scale of 1–100 across the following four criteria:
Impact on Clinical Performance and Care Delivery Support (30%)
Assessment focuses on measurable improvements in diagnostic accuracy, treatment support, clinical workflows, care coordination or system performance across healthcare environments.
Medical Technology-Specific Fit and Clinical Alignment (25%)
The editorial board examines how well a provider aligns with clinical settings, device usage, treatment pathways and the practical realities of integrating technology into care delivery environments.
Execution in Regulated and Safety-Critical Environments (25%)
Scoring considers the ability to deliver consistently within environments governed by strict regulatory standards, patient safety requirements and reliability expectations across clinical and operational settings.
Market Confidence and Provider Trust (20%)
Strong candidates demonstrate sustained trust through provider relationships, subscriber nominations, repeat engagements, referrals and recognition among healthcare and clinical leaders as dependable technology partners.
