A Non-invasive Treatment Program Designed For Musculoskeletal (MSK) Conditions

Over the years, biomechanics has played a critical role in musculoskeletal pathology, treatment, and rehabilitation and is emerging as a new health frontier.

To this end, AposHealth^® offers an FDA-cleared, non-invasive treatment for knee osteoarthritis, to help temporarily reduce knee pain and improve daily function by manipulating a patient’s biomechanics, without the side effects and costs associated with surgery and other MSK treatments. It is also a non-FDA cleared wellness device which can help patients live well with other MSK conditions, such as chronic low back and hip pain. In recent years, the US has seen an increase in knee pain and related conditions, partially driven by a rapid rise in obesity, which now impacts around 32 percent of adults. The additional weight on the body adds pressure to the joints, increasing the chances of getting a total knee replacement by 8.5 times for an individual with a body mass index over 30, compared to someone in the “normal” weight category.

Patients can get AposHealth^® after a thorough clinical evaluation including questionnaires, history and physical exam, and a visual gait assessment. The participating providers also perform a laboratory gait assessment to obtain objective measurements of gait function, including velocity, step length, and single-limb support. Based on these parameters, a therapist calibrates a footworn device using proprietary methodology to attach convex pods to rails built into the bottom of the device.
