According to the BCC Research report, the global market for endoscopy devices should reach $51.7 Bn by 2022, growing from $37.0 Bn in 2017. Factors that are contributing towards the growth are--increasing demand for minimally invasive surgical procedures resulting in fast recovery and short duration stay in hospitals, and technological disruptions allowing a broader scope of applications for endoscopy. Besides, the rise of the obese population favoring bariatric surgery for weight reduction is also a significant factor driving the endoscopy market growth. The original equipment manufacturers are already incorporating high-resolution technologies such as 3D systems, capsule endoscopy, and miniaturized endoscopic systems into their offerings.
