DEC - JAN19Zavation Innovative Products to Aid Surgeons in Treating PatientsWE WELCOME SUGGESTIONS FROM THE HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS AND DISTRIBUTORS, WHO HAVE BEEN ASKING US TO GO INVASIVE WITH OUR OFFERINGS, TO MAKE THE SURGERIES TERRIFIC Over the years, technology has changed how surgical procedures are performed, embedding more efficiency and precision into them. With advanced instruments and tools, surgeons can now complete these procedures in a simplified manner in less time. However, this has been possible with the consistent evolution of products used for surgeries, and a company that has made a significant contribution to make it happen is Zavation, a Mississippi-based medical device manufacturer. Zavation brings an extensive portfolio of advanced products across categories such as biologics, spinal systems, and Kyphoplasty. Each of Zavation's products is developed after considering the feedback and specific requirements of surgeons that the company maintains a close association with. "Today, surgeons look for more invasive procedures, and at Zavation, we have products that help address the same," begins Jeffrey Johnson, CEO at Zavation. One of the company's key offerings is eZspand PLIF that appropriately addresses the surgeons' need for an expandable cage for convenience in lumbar fusion. It comes with a large graft window and flexibility to adjust the height and allows post-expansion packing of graft material. The company has also introduced a single-use kit that comprises plates, screws, and cages for surgeries. The kit offers excellent ease of use to surgeons and the surgical centers that no longer have to sterilize the instruments after each operation.Innovation and precision are two key factors that the team at Zavation swears by while designing and manufacturing each of these products. Not just that, the company seeks to continuously evolve and improve its offerings based on the surgeons' reviews and recommendations. "We welcome suggestions from the healthcare professionals and distributors, who have been asking us to go invasive with our offerings, to make the surgeries terrific, and that's how we have developed our new range of products," adds Johnson. Additionally, it's the combined industry experience of the engineering and management teams at Zavation that has allowed it to grow manifolds over the years and fulfill the healthcare sector's growing needs. However, what sets them apart from its competitors is the fact that Zavation develops its products in-house. "Initially we outsourced everything, but as we continued to grow, speed was of the essence, and thus, we started manufacturing our products in house. It helps us in getting our products into the market faster," says Johnson. This has been a great advantage for the Zavation team as it allows the company to fulfill surgeons' requirements faster. In one such instance, a surgeon sought a plate that can perfectly get aligned to the patients during the surgical procedures. While the market had different sized plates available, he was looking for one plate that could expand inside the patient's body. That's when Zavation came up with an expandable plate, which enjoys extensive usage across healthcare facilities. Likewise, on another occasion, a surgeon approached the firm asking for a shorter screwdriver than the one being offered. In such cases, Zavation can fulfill the requirements in a day or two, which is impossible even for larger organizations. This customer-centric approach has helped the company come a long way in the medical device manufacturing space. Even in the future, the company intends to continue introducing innovative products that help doctors in surgical procedures and further benefit their patients. TOP 10SOLUTIONS PROVIDERS - 2022 SPINE
